5 Ways I Love to Relax at Home

I absolutely love finding ways to properly relax in the evenings or on the weekend. Sometimes that means a simple pit stop at a nail salon, and other times I will pour myself a glass of red wine, pop on a sheet mask and zen out on the couch. No matter what your relaxation tactics are, it’s always nice to step away from the laptop and all of the social media channels for a solid reboot. Here, I’m sharing my five favorite ways to unwind at home.

1- Take a Long Shower or Bath and Moisturize

One of the drawbacks of a New York apartment is that most don’t have a bathtub, or at least one that you would ever want to sit down in. As an alternative, I take a long, hot shower using Korres newly launched White Blossom Shower Gel that a floral scent reminiscent of a luxurious spa day. When I first added it to our shower, Chris was very suspect of the feminine packaging and fragrance. Little does he know, I can tell he’s been using it, since the bottle is going quite quickly! After a shower, I moisturize with the coordinating body butter and am usually feeling better already.

2 – Slip Into Chic Loungewear

As someone who’s definitely concerned with aesthetics, there’s something about cute loungewear that just makes the whole “trying to relax” experience a bit more fun. I am obsessed with the rompers and shorts sets by Eberjey and have my eye on this chic black and white robe.  I’ve rounded up some good options below.

3 – Try a Sheet Mask

When the Korean beauty craze made it’s way to the US a couple of summers ago, I went crazy trying all kinds of products from brands like The Face Shop and Tony Moly. While I enjoyed a lot of the makeup, it’s the skincare products that have become an on-going part of my routine—especially sheet masks. These masks by Tony Moly are great because each one is tailored to a different skin need, such as brightening, tightening or moisturizing. Pro tip: store them in the fridge for a doubly refreshing experience.

4- Refresh with Gel Eye Pads

These gel pads by Shiseido are an absolute lifesaver. Again, make sure to store them in the fridge and apply under your eyes for approximately 30 minutes. These are also great to use in the morning on days when you’re feeling less than %100 (read: hungover). You’ll come out on the other side much more bright eyed.

5 – Get an In-Home Massage (Really!)

If you really need to relax, pull out the big guns and have a masseuse come to your home. I have used massage on-demand service, Soothe, a couple of times now and highly recommend it. It’s $129 for a 60-minute massage in your home, and the masseuse brings their own massage table and supplies. How convenient is that!?
